| Sain Canonin uuden 100 mm makro-objektiivin
25.9.2009. Merkittävin uutuus siinä on kaksoiskuvanvakaaja, joka edustaa
kokonaan uutta tyyppiä (lisää
tietoja objektiivista löytyy Canonin sivuilta). Halusin tietenkin testata
tuon vakaajan toimintaa saman tien. Mitään tieteellistä tarkkuutta tämä
testi ei edusta,
koska käsivaralla kuvattaessa laukaisutärähdystä ei voi millään
standardoida eikä vakaajan toimintaa kannata jalustalla testata.
Otin alla olevaa taulukkoa varten kustakin kohteesta kaksi kuvaa sekä vakaajan kanssa että ilman sitä ja kuvista on aina valittu kummallakin tavalla parempi otos. Valotusajat ovat tarkoituksellisesti todella pitkiä - halusin todella kokeilla vakaajan rajoja. Kuvia ei ole terävöitetty eikä muutenkaan käsitelty rajausta ja skaalausta lukuunottamatta. Kamera on Canon 5D MKII. Johtopäätökseni on, että vakaaja toimii varsin hyvin luvatulla tavalla; neljä pykälää tavallisessa ja kaksi makrokuvauksessa. Joitain "oikeita" kuvia on jo myös sivuillani ja lisää tulee sitä mukaan, kun objektiivia tulee käytetyksi... |
I got the new Canon 100 mm macro
lens on September 25th, 2009. The most significant new feature is the
hybrid image stabilization which is the
first of its type (you
can find more
information about the lens on the pages of Canon). I naturally wanted to
test the stabilization immediately. The test
is not a scientific one since there is no way to standardize the shake
in manual shooting and the use of a tripod would not make any sense when
testing stabilization.
For the table below I took two images with the stabilization and two without it and selected the better one from each pair. The exposure times are very long on purpose - I really wanted to push the limits of the stabilization. I have not sharpened or processed the images except cropping and scaling. The camera is Canon 5DMKII. My conclusion is that the stabilization works as promised; four stops when shooting from normal distances and two in macro use. Some "real" images are also already on my pages and more will come as soon as I will use my new lens... |
